以自然為師，刀筆併用，擅長寫生景物畫。早年以創作台灣鄉村風景為主，後描景寫心，將心情寄託於景物，畫風厚重而強烈；並嘗試抽象寫意，以西畫技法為用，詮釋中國傳統抽象圖案。
